Voxox may notify our partners when 20% or more of their calls are less than 6 seconds.
Why is this important?
Voxox offers a reliable short duration product to our partners by holding a certain number of calls towards our underlying carriers to 7 seconds. This protects their network and ensures that we are able to provide high quality, low FAS routes to our partners.
We strongly believe that this policy reduces support tickets, increases quality of service for this growing market and helps our partners deliver the quality of service they have promised their customers.
What are my options?
The good news is we have a number of options to keep our partnership healthy for both parties. Some of these may be possible, others may not, please discuss the pros and cons and any questions with your account manager.
Option 1: Reduce the % of very short calls (best option)
Often the spike of calls that are below 6 seconds is due to single offending partner. If you are able to remove that partner from your blended traffic, that may solve the issue in one step. By just investigating these records, it may highlight a customers with an extremely low ACD, a very common marker for a CLI callback scam.
Option 2: Hold your calls to 7 seconds
We understand this may not be a popular option, and you may need to discuss this with your partners. If we take this path, there may be an opportunity to even lower your rates.
Option 3: Segment your traffic:
We offer the possibility to open a second trunk for your account that can be used to direct traffic showing a high percentage of short duration calls. This new trunk will be set with a different rate plan that will allow us to route this type of traffic.
Option 4: Increase rates
For this option, we can continue to keep your existing percentage of short duration calls as long as they remain under 40%. Voxox delivers quality low FAS routes because we hold a percentage of our calls towards the PSTN.
What’s next?
Reach out to your account manager or sales person to discuss the above options.
We expect questions and are confident that we can work out a solution to this issue together.
